This little speaker is surprisingly loud. I've had it for a while and it's been put to the test. I took him sailing down the river. I tied it to a hose and connected it to a phone in a humid box. It swam all day and the speaker was on all the time and was probably under water half the time. Music was playing in the other half. He was still playing underwater but I stopped him when we got together with different music. Also, there were some pretty rough spots in the river and he survived. It lasted to the end and I used it for at least 3 hours the night before and didn't charge it. It's a little workhorse! He also fell about 6 feet and landed on concrete a few times. The only problem I've noticed lately is that sometimes when I'm listening to a book with audio, part of the first word of a sentence gets cut off. Not in all of the books, but he will throughout the book if she has a problem. Maybe it has more to do with how they were recorded or how they are perceived to be audible? Or maybe it's a river trip.
