Review on Thorogood 804 4478 Men's American Heritage Crazyhorse Work & Safety Shoes by Jeremy Kakaruk

So after doing some research on a good pair of boots I bought these guys and these thorogoods had great reviews from people saying they would be served to them for many years. I was hoping they would last this long but unfortunately I ended up with a short end of the stick. The first photo I've attached is the day they were received, the second and third are a month after use, the fourth is eight. months and the last three - 11 months. So yeah, these boots didn't even last me a full year before they started falling apart and leaking water. Now it is important to pay attention to my working environment. I work in a corrugated box making warehouse and the machine I work on is a flexo press. This is important to know because I deal with ink, soap, water and all kinds of chemicals every day. I can't remember the day I finished my shift with ink on my boots. My shoes are constantly spattered with ink and they are always wet. This ink (along with other chemicals) knows to eat away at the shit you leave it on. So I think this is ultimately the end of my boots. I didn't take good care of them so I'm sure if I had to wash them at the end of my shift they would last longer. So I'm still giving them 4 stars because the things I'm dealing with eat metal and paint. That being said the boots were great as long as they lasted, fully waterproof and came home dry feet every day. They were quite comfortable but I have fairly high arches so the standard insoles weren't enough for me. If you have high arches like me, buy new insoles with your boots. All in all these are good boots and I would recommend them. I didn't take good care of mine so they fell apart. If you get ink, soap, and chemicals on your shoes every day, simply wash them at the end of the day and they'll last. You don't have to be crazy cleaning, just don't let these things sit.
