Bottle Comparison - Sports & Outdoor Supplies

I have both an Elllo Syndicate water bottle and a Life Factory bottle and have been using them alternately for the past 6 months. Both are still in good condition with no leaks or cracks despite being tossed in the grass and carried to work every day. I bought these to replace my Contigo plastic bottles when I switched from plastic to glass. Glass bottles meet the same requirements as Contigo, but are heavier and easier to clean. There are 3 main differences in the functionality of these glass bottles: 1) Open type. Ello wins because the lockable lid gives me peace of mind knowing the bottle doesn't end up in my purse. The button open is more convenient and cleaner than the Life Factory (LF) open style, which requires potentially microbial hands to touch the bottle's mouthpiece to lift the cap. 2) Size: Ello is slightly larger than LF although it holds 2 ounces less. It's narrower so Ello fits better in car cup holders, but it's too big to fill most sinks and can be a problem in some older fountains. Depending on your charging habits, this may be a hurdle for you. 3) Easy to clean: I hand wash the bottles with a soapy bottle brush. Ello's narrower opening makes this difficult as my sponge-tipped bottle brush doesn't fit through the bottle opening. I can use a smaller bottle brush for baby bottles, but the Ello is so big it's hard to reach to really clean the floor. I wouldn't expect a dishwasher to adequately clean these bottles without additional cleaning, especially the lids. The Ello bottle opening is just under 1 1/2 inches wide and the base is 2 3/4 inches wide. I bought both bottles with my own money. $15 for Ello at Revain, $20 for Life Factory by Wegmans.
