Review on Shoei GT-Air II Helmet (X-Small) (Matte Black) by Daniel Bulkley

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The Sena SLR2 is terrible, bad, terrible, most terrible. Great helmet

First pluses. Extremely well-made and comfortable helmet, no hot spots for oval intermediate heads. The fit and finish is what you would expect from such an expensive helmet. The inner visor is a godsend, I no longer have to check the weather every morning and decide which visor to wear before going outside. Pinlock works great, doesn't fog up. Coming from a Scorpion R420 I think the noise is about the same but who cares you should definitely wear ear plugs, winds in excess of 60mph in any helmet will cause serious damage to ears in a short space of time . The airflow is great, I feel a lot of air around my head and I can shut it off by adjusting the vents. Very happy with the Helmt and Shoei brand. Now con- Sena. This company sucks, the speakers suck, and if you're looking to listen to music with the slr2, good luck, unless you're standing still and like to pretend you're listening to music out of a coke can. Complete nonsense Shoei, please reject Sena as a bluetooth service provider or at least urge them to update the SLR2 driver and speakers. My 30k which only works after buying "HD speakers" shouldn't mount on it but after trying the SLR2 and finding it completely useless for music, communication or navigation. I decided to take my old 30k and give it a new life, it drove fairly easily and in good condition, definitely not as smooth as the SLR2 but I can listen to music and navigation at high speeds (only with HD speakers) . I almost didn't buy this helmet because it was ruined by Sena, but the quality of the shoes makes up for this stupid decision in collaboration with Sena. I hope this helmet will last me at least 5 years and by then the cardo will have something that integrates with the helmet for shoes if it's still sena I'll find another helmet because 30k is better with HD speakers , still terrible and I will never buy another product from them. Make Shoei better, develop their own communication system or use Cardo, Sena does its best not to develop its product further but still gain market share.

Pros
  • GT-Air II Design Concept. The original SHOEI GT-Air, released in 2013 as SHOEI's premium full-face touring helmet with internal sun protection, made this type of helmet a functional and stylish alternative that many riders have come to appreciate. , thanks
