We've had this surge protector for a few weeks now. A computer is connected to it. During this time we had several thunderstorms, one with nearby lightning strikes. Although no electronics in the home were damaged in this impact, this computer was actually powered on during the storm and was not damaged. As a side note, I like the highly visible LED as it makes it easy to see that the surge protector is still working and isn't sacrificing itself to protect the devices connected to it. (Update 04/01/2019: We have two of these now that have been running for five to six months. Both are still working well in a location that gets intermittent thunderstorms.)
