Review on ๐Ÿ“ท Canon EOS 77D Camera Body by Abhi Abhilasha

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value for money, I recommend.

A good picture, in comparison with the 60D or Sony A58 - just heaven and earth. Not FF, but it needs high-quality glasses - it literally does not forgive whale and budget zooms, turning shooting into a lottery. On fast apertures - fast as lightning, sharp and beautiful in colors. With all the advantages - the starting camera, on which you really begin to feel the shortcomings of budget carcasses and glasses. That is, itโ€™s not that โ€œrawโ€, but itโ€™s a little lacking here and there to the ideal)))

Pros
  • Good dynamic range, convenient control system, two displays - the upper LCD simplifies operation and extends battery life in the field. Lightweight, not only relative to the older FF models, but also to earlier brothers in the class and "younger brothers" such as "Sony 350", 58, etc. Quite working ISO 1600 and 3200, you can not talk about 400 and 800 at 24MP. Very fast and accurate AF, even on third-party lenses. But not at all - "long" zooms like 18-200 from Tamron and Sigma 77th does not like and regularly smears))) As a portrait camera for outdoor shooting - unusually good. Flexible, long-lasting RAW.
Cons
  • 1. There is no AF micro-adjustment for individual glasses, therefore, mistakes in the back and front are corrected only by shooting a series of 3-5 frames. 1a. There is no switching of metering modes on the fly, only through the menu. Not particularly critical, but it would be very useful, since the camera is good just as a "camping" or reportage, and not for studio work. 2. The electronic level is poorly functional, which is with Live View, which (especially!) In the viewfinder, unlike the same Sony A77, with a neat switchable 360 โ€‹โ€‹graduation on top of the full screen image. Maybe they'll fix it with firmware. but hard to believe. 3. Video recording in FHD hangs ! Having recorded a video on 4 gigabytes, you can wait a long time until it is written to a memory card (SanDisk, 80Mb / s, everything), or reboot "hot", pulling out the battery, and lose the recording. But it was not taken for video, alzo - figs with him, it will do. 4. Battery capacity could be more. 5. With high lighting contrasts, in morning and sunset twilight, it gets confused with exposure metering, and can fail the simplest scenes in shadows-lights. But from RAV stretches very well. 6. AWB noticeably pulls in the "warm" direction, but this is more of a plus than a minus. Those. - for an amateur
