Downgraded to 1 star.(((DO NOT BUY THIS CAMERA))) This device writes to SD card very erratically on first try. Got the recommended size and charged the battery before mounting it. I also didn't use night vision as the area I was pointing the camera at was very well lit. days and check if my records are satisfactory. this first experiment took a little longer, 7 days, before i could test the camera. When I pulled out the SD card to watch the video, I was surprised that it only recorded for about 4 days and then stopped. No further videos were created after this period. I disabled it, maybe the battery wasn't fully charged and I should try again. Second try: This time I made sure to charge the battery for at least 6 hours, making sure the charging indicator was on for the entire period. I then formatted the SD card in the camera for a fresh start and finally reinstalled it. 6 days later a neighbor called me and asked if my camera had filmed the burglary. I went to check my camera which was aimed at the interesting scene. . What I found was very disappointing. The camera only recorded for two days, and then it just stopped completely. after the first two days there were no recordings, only about 6 minutes of video. My neighbors and I walked past the camera's field of view SEVERAL TIMES and these instances went undetected. We even moved our cars, which should result in a motion indicator even on the lowest settings. The camera was placed in the shade so I know it hasn't overheated or been exposed to rain. Even with a lot of SD card space and only a charged battery, it still doesn't work. There's probably built-in sleep programming to save battery, but it prevents the cameras from waking up. Updated 8/28/21 After another 7 days of trying this device is complete garbage. It doesn't record anything even though the SD card is recognized and formatted. From time to time, it would send out real-time alerts but didn't record anything. I then tried turning WiFi off to see if that would cause it to write to the SD - nothing. No motion or sound detection even though these settings are enabled. The red indicator flashes, but no recording takes place. No warning no matter how many days I travel back in history, NOT EVEN!
