Review on Peak Design Travel Tripod: Lightweight & Sturdy 5-Section Aluminum Camera Tripod by Robert Prix

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Sturdy, slightly heavy

I was a little skeptical when it was first released, with a high price tag and mixed reviews. I have another very popular carbon fiber brand travel tripod that I didn't like because it fits the bill, but the user experience isn't smooth. The legs fell off and I had to take them out of the mod and screw them back in! To turn the camera back on you had to twist and turn two levers with both hands, which is very stupid when you're holding the camera between the rocks and trying to turn it on. My friend is a big fan of lace design, it's on his wish list. I thought I'd try. I didn't go for carbon fiber because of the price, hopefully the vibration doesn't come back and bite me. I guess most of my landscape shots will be away from people and movement so I should be fine. A little extra weight is bad for your back, but good for image stabilization.1. Assembly. This is a sturdy tripod for heavy use. Slightly heavier than most travel tripods I've had. Stability is positive. The joints are very stable. The camera is securely fixed at the top. No problem. Of course, you all already know that it folds down to the size of a large water bottle. user experience. This is where the pinnacle of design shines. It's all about user-friendly design. Extending the legs is quick. Rotate to unlock, the camera pops out, rotate, fix, a very simple and safe operation, the best I've ever used. Rotate to raise the center column. One more turn to adjust the ball head. Spring-loaded pressure lever directly on the leg to change the angle of the legs. There is a built-in storage for a double-head tool, mainly used for screwing the plate.3. Of course the base plate works with the gripper clip if you have purchased the Peak Design Eco System.4. The packaging is surprisingly high quality. Beautiful cardboard box with elastic closure. Then a travel bag made of good material from Peak-Design. I'll probably never use them, but it's a good thing they don't skimp on quality. The packaging is surprisingly high quality. Beautiful cardboard box with elastic closure.
