Excellent but expensive.

Overall I like this tripod and am happy to be able to afford it. It's very expensive but I travel a lot and it fits in my backpack pockets which is a huge bonus. Consider it an investment, maybe do a few quick photo shoots to pay for it. But I will emphasize that if you are not really a tourist, you do not need elegant design or limited height. For a traveler this is perfect, for a studio photographer you might have trouble getting eye-level portraits of tall people. Before you buy, ask…

Fantastic tripod included on tripods

Find a good tripod for hiking and general photography that can hold a large telephoto lens without weighing a ton. This tripod fully meets these requirements. The designers really went back to the drawing board with this tripod and completely redesigned it from the regular tripod. The resulting design is fairly compact (about the diameter of a water bottle) but can support quite a bit of weight without flexing. In the photo I have a Nikon D7500 and a Tamron 250-600mm lens. The tripod holds this

Good tripod for travel, fits full tripods

Well, everyone can admit that this is a bit pricey. I went with aluminum because it's a lot cheaper and from what I've read probably more durable than the carbon fiber version. I'm not a fan of twist locks and love how quickly I can attach the camera to my head. And I know it's locked The legs fold in easily when I'm in a hurry and I know when they're all locked, unlike twist locks. It feels good in the hand, because of the shape and size I really appreciate it for traveling. I didn't notice…

First question - I don't know ANY landscape painter who doesn't take at least a few panorama photos (several pictures put together). The head of this tripod does NOT have a plain pan. not without completely loosening the ball head and thus letting it wobble around another axis. If I found out sooner that would be a deal breaker! To fix this I need to buy a third party adapter there. another 30 dollars. which allows me to use a regular swivel ball head at any price you can afford! The second…

So I wanted to love!

Husband surprised me with this tripod after I bragged about it. We watched YouTube videos, that sold it. Upon arrival we were impressed with the packaging, look and feel. I installed it in my living room using the one hand technique that youtubers showed me. Liked the ARCA record mount. we were happy That night I went outside to photograph the moon with my new Nikon Z7 and a 200-500mm lens. Pointed the lens at the moon and then watched it slide out of frame in real time. (and yes I mounted the…

Almost everything good for camera and photo

I originally ordered the aluminum version, I just found the CF version too expensive, but it was either lost in the post or delivered to the wrong address. Revain never gave details, but I got my money back. So I bought another one from B&H and then took it to Henry's cell and looked at the CF version. I immediately regretted my purchase and immediately bought Henry's CF version and the universal ball head adapter. You wouldn't think the weight would matter that much, but it really does. All…

Sturdy, slightly heavy

I was a little skeptical when it was first released, with a high price tag and mixed reviews. I have another very popular carbon fiber brand travel tripod that I didn't like because it fits the bill, but the user experience isn't smooth. The legs fell off and I had to take them out of the mod and screw them back in! To turn the camera back on you had to twist and turn two levers with both hands, which is very stupid when you're holding the camera between the rocks and trying to turn it on. My…

Expensive but almost perfect

I have a tripod problem. Too many tripods in the stable over the years! I'm still looking for the perfect tripod. Inexpensive, lightweight, compact for hiking, easy to set up, big enough to work at eye level and strong enough for heavier installations. And more importantly, plate compatibility makes it easy to use alternative carrying systems (strap clip, PD Capture). The Peak Designs team really listened to photographers looking for a multi-purpose travel tripod. As a photographer who spends a
