I've owned so many coffee makers over the years. I changed 3 coffee machines last year alone. I keep a whole bunch of these in the basement in case one of them dies before I get my morning workout. My husband says I'm a bit obsessed; I like to say I'm just ready. Anyway, it's been a long time since I've had a coffee machine that makes me smile as much as this one. I spent 10 minutes dancing in my kitchen when I took it out of the box. The first thing I noticed (after unboxing) is that it has that lever on the back. This small lever is used to remove the top so it can be washed in the dishwasher. I swear I heard the angels sing and the world grew brighter. Why has it taken so long for anyone to figure out how to do this and does they understand how incredible this feature is? Okay, now that I've (hopefully) helped you understand what this feature means, let's move on. The next thing I noticed was that the lid opens to the side. This makes it very easy to fill up with soil and water. There is also a window on the side of the machine that allows you to see how much water has been added. This may seem like a simple feature, but I've had several coffee makers that didn't have this feature. Instead, there were small lines in the car that I had to try to see to determine the water level. let's get going again Water does not come out of the coffee pot lid like some I have used. Instead, it has a spout that swivels to the side when you add coffee grounds. There's also a reusable filter for those who don't want to use paper. They even included a water filter so you can have extra filtered water, with a dial to set the month so you know when you last changed it. Now for the coffee making. The clock/timer function is easy to use, so I won't waste time explaining it. After setting the clock and timer, you need to press the Cook Later button twice to activate this feature. The first press gives you the option to select the time and the second press activates the function. Very easy. When I first brewed coffee with it, I noticed that it brewed slowly. I've had coffee makers that could brew either fast or slow, and I can tell you that coffee that was brewed slower seemed stronger. Also, this machine cooks at a fairly high temperature. Both make me very happy. There is a sound signal that lets you know when the coffee is ready and there is also a function that allows you to keep the coffee hot for 4 hours. 4 HOURS! This may seem like overkill to some, but I usually drink coffee slowly throughout the day, so it's AMAZING! In addition, the decanter leaves no mess when pouring. Of all the coffee pots I've had, I've had very few that didn't drip coffee into the carafe as it was poured. It really annoys me when that happens. I always have to pour the coffee down the sink and wipe out the pot before putting it back on the hot plate to keep the coffee from pooling on the plate. No longer! The coffee also doesn't drip onto the hotplate when I take out the carafe to pour it. YAY! I've been using this coffee pot for the past week and I still break out in a happy dance every time. It has added even more wonder to my morning cup of coffee and now I'm going to donate my stack of coffee pots and stock up on them. I'm in love with this car.
