I followed the directions and ordered a size up - ordered large (I'm 34D; 5ft 3in 140lbs). I laughed as I looked up. I thought it might stretch so I tried it on. not really. My chest is barely covered and the bones don't stay in place. I'm going on vacation in 2 days so I really tried to make this top work - the only thing that made it better was unzipping and crossing the straps (you can untie the straps which is nice) . But I wouldn't recommend being too active in this suit. A jump behind the volleyball and the tongs slip off. I would wear this top either way in my family. Another thing - the cups are so small that the boobs appear 2 cups smaller than they actually are which is a bummer. BUT the pants are double layered and thick - they fit way better than expected! I wear size 6 pants and have large hips, so the hem of a swimsuit is usually an issue for me. But they are absolutely daring, but not too overt. If you're having a hard time finding swimsuit bottoms, a suit is cheap enough to buy just for the bottoms.
