Review on πŸŽ’ Rothco Black Stealth Rappelling Bag: Ultimate Tactical Gear for Effortless Rappelling by Jeremy Sabey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great bag for specific purposes. Not waterproof!

I have had this bag for about 5 years. I have abused this bag the same way a piece of gear can be abused. I bought it for a lot less and figured I could take it apart and get another if it broke. However, it never broke, which is why I am writing about it here. I take this bag on a hike from the beaches of the Florida Everglades to Chokoloskey Island Park. Holds rope and tools I don't mind getting wet/sandy. It's not dry so don't expect it. There is a velcro hole at the back end of the bag. I think it's easy to get in and out of, but I don't use it much. I am planning to buy another bag for use on the shooting range. It's great when you use it for its intended purpose: rope and tool. Update: 04/23/2013 The thing does not break. Still a tough bag in my eyes. Maybe I'll do a YouTube review when I get a chance. I remember when I bought this bag I thought about getting a maxpedition instead but settled on a small utility bag which I couldn't beat at the price at the time and couldn't buy a $70 bag justify it, only to save it as a commodity. Pocket. That's not where the durability of the Maxpedition fabric lies, but lately I've been unimpressed with the Maxpedition stitching. On my second return in less than 7 months for the same bag. I gave it 5 stars for its reliability, price, molle compatibility on both sides, size and versatility. I'm not deducting a star because of the lack of impregnation, since it's not designed for water or water resistance. So there's no need to berate a product for something it shouldn't be used for.
