I don't often take the time to write a review, but I read a lot of reviews before I buy anything. how. I have a 30" waist and 40-41" hips. According to the size chart I should have ordered X-Large. I took a chance and ordered the size I normally wear - medium and I'm very happy with the fit. They're stretchy enough, I could probably fit a small one, but I'm not sure it would pass the bend test (my underwear came through as I bent over). Anyway, the compression is good: my hips don't tremble, my waist actually touches me all around, but it doesn't cause any discomfort. I'm about 5ft 2in, about the right length, with some creases around my knees or ankles, but that doesn't bother me. They're more likely to cluster around the ankles after work or when running around town, but that's not the case. It does not bother me. The first day I wore them, I traveled from 90 degree (Fahrenheit) weather to 60 degree weather. They were a bit warm in 90 degree weather, but they were nice and warm as I drove north. Only thing I wish the pockets were about 2 inches lower. The bags fit very well on my GS 10 (with the battery box), the bags are straight against the saddlebags. I'm also used to washing trousers with cargo pockets. that sit a little lower on the leg, a taller person can contradict me. I find them very comfortable and have a feeling I'll be buying more of them. Hope that helps!
