Overall a great stand. The hinges don't have knurled turnbuckles, but they're fairly stiff and stay in place once in place. I don't know how long that tension would last if you change altitude multiple times a day, but that's not my use case. I just wanted a stand to place my MacBook Air over my desk. The fan is okay, but not great. It's quiet but doesn't blow much air and doesn't have an on/off switch. So if you don't turn off your car at the end of the day, get ready to have the fan running 24/7. Small bug but something that might be fixed in a future version.
