I bought 5 of these. 3 worked perfectly and worked well when dry. The latter two were used in a Honda EU2000 portable on a boat. They are rated IP65. Housing IP66 - protection class IP "dust-tight" and protected against heavy seas or strong jets of water. Housing with protection class IP 67 - IP degree of protection against dust and protection against immersion. for 30 minutes at a depth of 150 mm to 1000 mm. Housing IP 68 - protection class IP "dust-tight" and protection against complete and permanent immersion in water. in light rain, making the display blurry and unreadable. At first I thought the battery seal was compromised on the first one. Bought a second one. Last weekend the generator at the bow of the boat was running in moderate rain. Given the IP65 rating, I expected this to not be a problem; However, the display also failed. I tried drying the insides with compressed air and a heat gun; and he partially recovered. The numbers are shown as a full 8 on the LED screen. This hour meter works well when kept dry. Otherwise, buy one with an IP67 rating.
