Was unable to read the tachometer properly on my boat. I had to extend two wires with 18 gauge wire (the instructions aren't clear about the two wires, it just says "you can extend the WIRE"). I've tried wrapping the WIRES between 4 and 9 times and it's still not accurate. Nice simple hour meter fitted to a 1981 Honda ATC 185s single cylinder 2 stroke engine. had to simulate the RPM setting to 2 sparks per revolution to get around 1200 rpm because the engine has to give out 1400 at idle so its accuracy is a few hundred rpm.
