I like that the inside is 100% cotton and the outside is mainly cotton (65%) and wool (25%) with a touch of nylon (10%). Outside. This is a great base layer shirt but I also wear it as a regular winter top as it looks good and keeps you warm. It looks (as my daughter described) almost exactly like a sweatshirt material, maybe because it's a heathered pattern, but it's actually much thinner than a sweatshirt. One person said in their review they thought they were spiky on the outside because of the wool - I didn't notice any scratches - I think they are soft and I bought 4 of these tops. I think this top deserves 5 stars, the only thing that could improve it might be real ribbing on each sleeve rather than a sewn hem on each sleeve. I like the cuffs as they seem more durable to me. Due to the fabric content, to avoid shrinkage, I washed inside out in cold water and air dried flat. I love the natural fibers in this top because they help wick moisture and prevent the sweating that tops made with synthetic materials cause. If you are a real medium, you can order one size up. I'm between small and medium and I ordered medium.
