I have to talk to about 20 people on the street every day and this is the loudest configuration with the least distortion. It probably works because it's wired. The other 2 (one was a Califone and the other I don't remember) were Bluetooth and started to work fine but weren't that loud and started having interference issues. This lasted several months. And I've dropped it about 3 feet a few times (the clamp isn't the best) and it stays intact. I started using the included neck strap to hang it around my waist. Overall, I got my money's worth because it preserved my already torn voice.
