Best returns! Went back to radio control due to Covid. When I got interested it was buggies and stadium trucks. But now it's a monster truck that's way more fun! More room to ride on parks and grass. Things like rocks, branches and dirt don't get stuck in the wheels and chassis like the Arrma Typhon. I've listed the best upgrades so you can just have fun and get up to speed slowly and cheaply. Ready to use out of the box, but can be easily upgraded for more fun.1. The stock 7.4V 1800mAh Nimh battery doesn't last long, maybe 7/8 minutes. Buy 2 2S Kero 7.6v 40c 4500 batteries for $25 it's the best value you can get. They last 2.5 times longer, have more power because they are suitable for liposuction and deliver 7.6 V instead of 7.4 V. More fun and faster speeds! Batteries only!2. Buy the Dynamite Prophet Mini Charger for $27. This is the fastest/cheapest Lipo HV (Lipo High Voltage) charger you can buy. The standard Nimh charger works for 3 hours! Stock Charger lasts 3 hours and plays 8 minutes, um, no thanks! As mentioned, the Dynamite charger takes 45 minutes for Kero batteries and you can play for 40 minutes. HAVE FUN! And the car is only $99. So if you break it, remember you've paid halfway through most of the starting cars, buy another and use the first one for parts. speed boost! 1. 19 teeth 48 pitch gear, you can use it on a standard motor for more speed. DO NOT USE 25T unless you are installing a 2S brushless system. Don't try to use 3s because the vehicle's axle system design breaks even with upgraded parts no matter what. (If you want more speed than 2S, I suggest switching to Arrma 3S cars and skipping the Mega series, that's how much fun this Granite suspense is!) A 25t gearbox will burn the ESC. A 19 tooth gear costs about $10.2. Motor, you can fit a 550 12-tooth motor, but that's just a fraction of a second faster acceleration with the stock gearbox. You will need a 19 tooth gearbox when upgrading to a 550 12 tooth engine. The best 550 brushed motor is the $25 Traxxas Titan. Most other 12-rev 550s only have 3100 kW, Traxxas has 3550 kW. Alternatively you can purchase a 3600kW Reedy Radon 2 17t engine. Do not take the 15t 4100kv version as the motor will burn out. The Reedy is a great repairable engine. Traxxas is a sealed engine and therefore not serviceable. I personally don't like replacing parts unless they break. Granite is a value and so am I. But the real deal for the dollar is Far's granite voltage, upgraded batteries and charger, and a 19-ton gearbox will set you back $60, but it triples the fun. Granite Pull even has fixed motor mounting positions for different gears. The update is so easy and quick that you can't mess it up.
