My daughter allowed me to wear a bow tie to her wedding if all the men in my family would do the same. So we did! (Well, her grandfather decided on a tie at the last minute. I know better than to argue with the old one :-))) This tie (tie for me) I order for myself and for the rest of the family. They look great both individually and as part of a family set. Neither of us used pocket squares, so my friend turned a few of these into matching masks (it was a long-distance wedding, after all). Since then I have machine washed the mask (hang to dry) several times and the material has held up well.
