Silicone wipers are so superior to squeegee I wish I had known about them a long time ago and hadn't spent money on squeegee blades. Yes, the rubber ones are cheaper. But, you know what? If you only spent money on the silicone version, you wouldn't have to buy rubber versions for years. I actually have no idea how fast they wear out as I haven't owned a pair and I think I bought my first set of silicones about 2 years ago. And I live in the Northwest, so rain and wipers are a part of life here. Seattle has an average of 152 rainy days a year. Yes, we know rain. So buy silicone blades, clean the window well and pre-treat with silicone to ease the break-in period and you'll be good to go for a long time.
