A must for all BBQ lovers!

Unboxing: The first thing that struck me was the slim, compact design. I also have an Inkbird 6 probe thermometer and the IBT-4XS looks better. The thermometer comes with 4 probes, 2 probe holders and a charging cable. The fact that the thermometer has an internal rechargeable battery is a big plus. It was already 85% charged, but I went ahead and charged it. testing before preparation; I placed all 4 probes in an ice bath and boiling water before proceeding with the initial prep. I also used my 6-probe Inkbird and Weber digital thermometer as part of the test. In the ice bath, all 4 sensors showed 34 degrees. The 6 probe Inkbird also showed 34 while my Weber showed 32. During the boiling water test, the IBT-4XS sensors showed 210 degrees, while the 6-probe Inkbird showed 212 and the Weber showed 208. Overall, I'm satisfied with the accuracy of this test. The App: The Inkbird BBQ Go app is a great feature. It pairs easily with a thermometer via Bluetooth and gives you all the information you need about your cooking process. This enables wireless monitoring of your cook. I decided to cook a pork leg on this device as my first meal, so I set the upper limit to 203 degrees for each of the sensors I had used. When the internal temperature was reached, an alarm sounded. I didn't have to babysit the chef. I liked the thermometer. Brilliant! For this particular cook I used a pellet smoker so I didn't have to worry about using the stove to maintain the temperature; However, when using a traditional oven, I use one of the sensors to control the temperature inside the oven. You can set a temperature range and the thermometer will alert you via the app if the oven goes out of that range. If you cook late at night, this is a fantastic feature. Go and take a nap. An alarm lets you know when your oven is outside of the desired temperature range. Chef: I cooked the two beautiful pork hams pictured above. They came out amazingly well and I never had to worry about their progress. A quick glance at my phone and I knew immediately what was going on outside. It rained all day so not having to constantly go outside to check the temperature was very nice. I have a pretty big house and I could monitor the temperature in every corner of the house. It was only when I decided to make a quick trip to the store that I lost connection to the thermometer and the app immediately warned me that I was no longer connected. Possible future upgrades: This is a very good thermometer, especially for the price. If there's one thing I'd like to see in future Inkbird models, it's 1) Wi-Fi connectivity so you can control the temperature when you're away from home. That would be especially nice with very long cooking times. 2) Application for storing information about the cook. what did you cook, how long did it take, how did the temperature change during cooking, read notes about the cook like rubs used, did you wrap the meat, etc. Overall I am very happy with this thermometer and would highly recommend it to anyone who loves BBQ. Have fun cooking!
