I have installed two of these sets now. For the main speakers of the base system or surround speakers, they are more than adequate for the average home user. If you're looking for speakers that will blow your mind, you should probably look for speakers that cost over $40 a pair. In my case I use them as surround speakers for a simple basement system and they work great for that. There are a few things to consider if you decide to buy a set of these. 1) Loudspeakers are delivered assembled. what they will be after you mount them on the wall; Therefore, you need to disassemble them before you can install them. Remove the grille and remove the speakers from the mounting bracket by removing the six small screws holding them together. You must do this to actually use the editing system. 2) Instead of the traditional speaker terminals you find on floorstanding speakers, they have male quick disconnect spade connectors so you can use either a set of crimp connectors on the ends. at your local Radio Shack or AutoZone store, or you can solder the wires directly to the connectors. I decided to solder mine for the best possible connection. 3) If you wish to paint the speaker grille and mounting bracket in a color other than white, you can easily do so before installation. I recommend spray paint, which is safe for metals and plastics. My second set is now a nice dark gray.
