Review on Cat Toilet Training System: Litter Kwitter - Teach Your Cat to Use the Toilet - Includes Instructional DVD by Kathy Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

100% worth! The main thing is patience and preparation!

I just trained my (now 3 months old) cat (her name is Potato) in five to six weeks. We are at the end of the green stage and are about to read something about FREE WASTE! I started her when I first got her when she was 6 weeks old. Aside from picking her up, Litter Kwitter was all she knew. I read so many reviews before we started and they really helped prepare me for the challenge! I go to school full time and work Monday to Friday 8 to 5 and it was manageable. Here are some tips that have helped me the most. Use welding filler. I've been using Better Way litter for a while, but I've found Swheat litter better for the toilet and easier to vacuum to keep the toilet clean. and the garbage bags are closed! Most reviews mention that their cat had an accident - mine has never had an accident on the floor but she found a hole in the garbage bag by the toilet and pissed in it and she sniffed the shower drain but I don't think so. was it ever there - VACUUM yes, rubbish gets everywhere. Especially in the amber stage. I vacuumed multiple times a day, and yes, it frustrated me, but I was ready for it. Nature's Miracle Enzymatic Formula did a great job cleaning up around the toilet when there was a urine spill. This is the hard part because having junk lying around everywhere is frustrating, but after a few weeks it got easier. If there is trash on the floor, Potato will paw it and pretend to go to the bathroom where the trash was. She never did, but if I didn't clean it as often as I did, accidents could happen to her. - Multiple Cat Rings: At petsmart you can buy a pack that gives you two extra rings. Several reviews here said they wish they had them so I bought them straight away and used them and it seems to have helped. In addition, it was so small that the transition between the rings was made easier. I figured I might as well spend the extra $16. Praise! Potato liked it when I cheered her up and petted her after she was done. I have treats lying around and if I see her using them she gets a treat! - Regression if necessary: Potato gave up on the amber levels (there is an extra amber and green level in the multi-cat kit) so I went back to the previous one for another week. I'm glad the Kwitter filler allows you to do that. It's easier to get into the little adjustment gap: Potato and I hung out in the bathroom a bit so that she felt comfortable there. I gradually drew her attention to the sound of the toilet flushing so she wouldn't be scared. Now she runs when I flush the toilet because she likes the sound. I hope these tips help, because it's worth it, and I'm glad I'll be completely rid of the junk in a week!
