Durable probes with protective caps on both ends - a very nice touch. The meter itself is powerful

I expected only average build quality and performance from this meter and to my surprise, it far exceeded my expectations. The gauge is very well packaged for safe transport and includes a set of thick, durable probes with protective caps on both ends - a very nice touch. The gauge itself is hefty, thick plastic with rubber stoppers on the ends; It's made for survival in the field and feels like a much more expensive product in my hands. It can be a bit large if you have small hands, but that's the only downside in terms of fit and finish. The lighting feature is handy in that it turns off automatically after a few seconds, so you don't have to worry about draining the batteries if the light is accidentally left on. There is also a warning beep about 10 seconds before shutting down due to inactivity and another beep when it shuts down completely. The box pictured is in Chinese but the actual packaging I received was in English as was the English only printed instruction manual. Not one of those dodgy instructions that don't help much by listing two pages of quick features in each language. It's also a good translation that never made me scratch my head what they were talking about. It also comes with 3 AAA batteries to get you started right away. These are cheap batteries but I am sure they will last a long time. I checked the calibration with my Keithley 2015 6.5 digit multimeter and it was consistent across the board. The capacitance and frequency also worked well. No surprises! Auto-ranging is very handy and it's finally coming - my only complaint is that it's a bit slow to complete auto-ranging. Manual range is selected on screen so you can preset it in a known range for faster measurements and get to work. be beaten. Actually, I have two of them to do multiple measurements at the same time. Highly recommended.
