I was a bit cautious when I used it for the first time. Bringing warmth to the eye was a little scary. I just played with it until I got used to it. While it gets hot enough to curl your lashes, it doesn't get hot. I easily ran my finger over the silicone band after it warmed up. Silicone is pink when cold and turns white when heated. Requires 2 AAA batteries. I timed it and the entire strip heated up and turned white in 2 minutes. When I first curled my lashes I didn't notice any difference until I applied mascara. The eyelashes are properly curled. I will use it to curl my lashes before applying mascara. I was really impressed with how well it worked.
