UPDATE (now 5 STARS): I'll leave my first review below in case anyone else experiences the same. The company contacted me to solve the problem, the technician was very busy trying to solve my problem, after several troubleshooting steps, he decided he wanted to change my device. Once I got a new device and hooked it up, interacting with my Directv worked just like any other component. Very happy with my purchase and a company that supported their product until the problem was resolved. Original Review: The setup for this was super easy and the wireless part is great as I have my TV over the fireplace and my components next to the sofa. IR seems to work with everything but my Directv HR54. The HDMI switcher, DVD player, and even my Roku work right out of the box. Direcv DVR only works intermittently. I have tried many things such as B. Pressing the IR port and putting blue tape on the Directv IR port before I attach the transmitter. I've even tried covering it with aluminum foil to avoid interference, but that only works 1 time out of 10. I'll cover the small hole with tape but it looks like either the transmitter is too strong or the frequency isn't quite right for DirectV.
