Review on Lychee Glowing Strobing Electroluminescent Robbin by Matthew Wheeler

We ordered this EL ribbon for stage costumes and I have to say it works very well - the ribbon is exactly as described although the color is a bit difficult to match explain text; it's somewhere between blue and light blue. While not as bright as an LED strip, it still shows up easily in our stage lights and really stands out in poorly lit areas (like a dance club). If you've never worked with EL tape, there are a few YouTube videos that suggest different attachment systems so you can find the one that works best for you - our customer installed it with multiple cross straps that hold and allow it at the same time to take it off for washing clothes, and it creates interesting dark lines in EL-lit areas, making it look more complex than it actually is (you can also do this with black tape for an effect). Great purchase, shipping was a little quicker than expected and the ribbon and inverter arrived well packaged. And for those who are curious, yes, they run on rechargeable AA batteries! Although they have a lower voltage than typical alkaline batteries, they will work fine for at least a few hours before the voltage drops to the limit. I don't know exactly how long, since we haven't had any problems, so I didn't have to worry "if it would last long enough". One note: if needed you can lengthen the connecting wire so the battery and inverter can be placed further away on the suit, but the wire on it is long enough for a strip down the leg where the battery attaches to the belt, and the wires are held securely under the flap on Velcro. so as not to accidentally hit them. The construction is solid enough, it wasn't a problem, but it's better to be safe in the middle of a show.
