Peel off after several washes

I used the material with my silhouette cameo for carving. Cutting isn't great with glue on the back. When I first used the heat press, the material stuck to the cotton material; but after about 5 washes. I washed and dried it on a cold wrong side, the edges started to rise. The material resembles flannel.
