The lamps are filled with transparent rubberized plastic. The packaging says it's "Silica". Since this silica absorbs moisture, I'm not sure how it will hold up in the weather. I read something and silica is recommended for potting LEDs. The stuffing (whatever it really is) is a good conductor of heat, which explains why they feel warm. In my experience, clear potting materials tend to discolour over time, so I can expect light output to degrade after a year of bad weather. Beautiful color (3000K). The light output is higher than my existing 12 volt AC LED bulbs. I think they will work well on my lawn. It is rated at 1.22 watts at 12 volts DC and remains constant over the 10-18 volt range tested. Please note that performance may vary with temperature. The buck circuit starts failing at about 9 volts DC. I haven't tested them on an AC circuit yet. I have to wait until the evening for that. I will also test them with a capacitive dimmer. I've noticed that many LED bulbs can be successfully dimmed with a capacitive dimmer even if they don't work with a phase dimmer. I can't test them for power factor. My meter does not work with 12 volts.
