As per several other reviews, my dog had terrible diarrhea when I switched her food. I was so disappointed. The quality of this product and the price compared to other non-GMO products were attractive. I researched this and felt quite guilty for my spontaneous poorly planned switch. How did I find out; The transition needs to be gradual, here's what I found: The easiest way to switch products is to mix old and new products for about a week. Start with a mix of 25% new products and 75% old products. Feed like this for two or three days, and if there are no indigestion or soft stools, increase the mix to a 50/50 mix. Feed like this again for a few days, then increase to a 75/25 mix and finally 100% new food. If at any time an upset stomach occurs or the dog's feces become loose, delay adding new food to the mix until the problem is resolved. If there are no problems, the transition takes between a week and ten days. ********** After 3 months of acclimating my puppy to this new food I am very happy with the results. She is the epitome of health, hard poop, wet nose, super shiny and silky coat. She's black, so dandruff and dry skin show up easily with every brushing, but not since she switched to health food. I mix their dry food with healthy puppy food and will use the healthy treats in addition to my homemade dog biscuits. I love this food (and so does my pup) and the peace of mind that I am feeding her high quality non-GMO food. I highly recommend it, but switch SLOWLY! I recommend the Wellness company to put information on the packaging about the slow introduction of this new product. Their rating would be consistently 5 stars if people knew how to properly alter foods.
