It cools down a few degrees when I change the thermal paste on my GTX 1060 that I will be using for the build. Also, I had a Dell Optiplex and I replaced the thermal paste on my CPU's built-in heat spreader. I use it to replace thermal paste and get rid of dry paste that has been around for years.
