The pieces are strong thanks to the magnetic attachment, enough to withstand a little splash! But not so strong that it was impossible to move them to the desired squares. We only use this in our hot tub, we don't have a pool which is great! With jets on, the center can gradually fill with water, so it's not a perfect wall from the outside, but with jets off, everything is fine. We didn't like the dice that came with it, so we use regular backgammon dice. We mainly play this and checkers and it's quite a lot of fun! We even do it when we lazily sit back in the seat and in one motion roll the board onto the other person and push it through the water to the other side! Swims very well. I was expecting rust buildup and wear and tear by now, but the only thing was that it was a little faded from being left outside to dry. The blue plastic is slightly faded, barely perceptible. Highly recommended, the processing quality is really very good! Have fun!
