Other bird owners advised me to give my Moluccan Cockatoo some hard toys for mental enrichment. Due to the beads in the wheels, Misha is only allowed to play with this toy when he is in relative control (outside the cage). I bought him a red car and a blue truck and he strongly prefers the blue truck. If it takes a few weeks for the Moluccan Cockatoo (the species that has one of the strongest bites of any bird species), then you KNOW it's a tough toy. Birds are sensitive, curious and will break anything they can. Misha broke this toy every way he could, and no sharp edges, metal bits, etc. there weren't any, just beads in the wheels, which he broke once or twice (and I doubt a human baby would have had the strength to do it) Misha regularly rolls this toy on the ground, chasing me around the house until I leave it (accidentally taught him to fetch) and pretends to nest on it. He's a little obsessed with it! It's his favorite toy, luckily it's cheaper than most bird toys and I will buy it several times a year until he loses interest.
