Works in a pinch but worse than Baofeng OEM antennas

I connected them to my Baofeng UV-5R radios to increase the range. They did the opposite and significantly reduced my range. The test was conducted on FRS channel 462.5625 between my 3rd floor apartment and the car. While I was able to get a little over 1 mile with the antennas that came with the radios, the new antennas started wobbling after about a half mile. Since the radios were 0.6 miles apart, intelligible conversation was not possible with these antennas, but going back to the original antennas made the conversation crystal clear. I would not recommend these antennas to anyone looking to increase the range of their Baofeng radio.
