My 2005 Honda Pilot EX had HVAC temperature issues. Sometimes it was hot and sometimes it was cold. The low price of this part made it easy for me to justify not using genuine Honda parts. Installation took about 30-45 minutes. I removed the kick panel, which you just had to pull hard on the panel. I have my phone's flashlight, a mirror, a small (7mm?) allen key on the spinner's handle (to remove and replace the screws holding the device in place - a Phillips screwdriver will work too, but not as easily ) and a flathead screwdriver (for removing the pawl from a metal rod). Reinstalling was easier than taking apart. So once you've removed the old part, you're almost done. Everything seems to be working, so I'm happy.
