I'll get straight to the point. What hifi has named Sennheiser's Momentum M2 in-ear headphones Product of the Year 2016. I own them and they sound slightly better than those that have a very similar sound signature. The main characteristics of these headphones are a juicy, detailed sound, excellent dynamics and a tight, rich bass. It's not bass-heavy, but it's not bass-shy either. It's a little hard to explain, but I'll try. My stereo setup consists of a pair of KEF LS50 speakers. I was very happy with this until one day I added an HSU subwoofer from a home theater system to the mix. KEF sounded the same, but suddenly I realized what I was missing. Think of these headphones as a similar setup, with an amazing subwoofer added to an excellent stereo speaker. The bass never overwhelms the mids and highs like other bass-heavy headphones do. It just adds an extension that you don't realize until you hear it. There is no noise reduction feature here, I'm fine with that. The passive noise cancellation didn't bother me at all during the 4 hour flight. These headphones deliver superior musicality and detail. They lack perhaps a very thin veil of transparency and detail compared to my Shure SE846 (four times the price). But you'll have a hard time finding differences in an A/B test. And all via Bluetooth! I don't know why a previous customer complained about the Bluetooth range, they have better range than the Urbanite XL which I also own. Today I was able to maintain a stable connection to my laptop indoors while planting perennials outside. It's at least 50 feet. If the link is out of range, sq will not be corrupted, it will just disappear. I like that, it means I'm not always trying to be as close to the source as possible to get the best sound out of them. Charging is done via a micro USB cable. I would have preferred USB-C, but that's just me. A nice touch, if you're listening to music through the PC and you're out of power, you can plug them into your PC and they become USB-powered headphones while charging. Of course, the USB cable is inconvenient, but it allows you to listen to music without interruption. There is no difference in sound between a wireless or wired connection. This is not a new feature, other Sennheiser Bluetooth headphones have this feature too, but I think it's nice. There are a few things I don't like about these headphones: 1) The cords come out at the bottom of the neck. That lengthens the headphone cable a bit and simply doesn't make sense ergonomically2) The headphone cables are flat, but I would have liked them to be braided. The nylon braid gives the cords tensile strength and increases their lifespan, and I also find that the rubber canes stick easily to my neck. Nylon or hybrid braids usually feel a little better. Again, if you have a beard, the nylon braid will be scratchy. 3) Out of the box you will get 4 sizes of silicone tips (X small, small, medium, large). My $9 Apie headphones came in 6 sizes. I needed something between small and medium for a proper fit. Proper foam pulse tips work great with this, which is why I use them. Come on Sennheiser, at this price I expect a few more tips as well as some foam tips. 4) These headphones are bright out of the box and take at least 20 hours of break-in to approximate their actual sound quality. I won't call her about it. But it seemed to me that it took them longer to walk in than usual. 5) No aptX™ HD. There are a few things I love about these headphones 1) Incredible sound quality. I have a number of bluetooth headphones including Sennheiser headphones as well as Sony MDR-1000X and B&W P7 Wireless. These headphones sound better than any other to me. 2) Improved Bluetooth range. If you're not getting good range or bad audio, check your Bluetooth settings, these headphones have better range than the above. 3) Stylish, understated design with premium finishes that exude luxury. The volume is directed outwards. Easy to get when you need to turn down the volume badly. 5) Battery life more than 15 hours. 6) An unobtrusive neck strap that can easily be hidden under the shirt collar. 7) Built-in USB DAC. 8) Bluetooth Qualcomm® apt-X™. Melody. No noticeable lag when watching a movie 9) Sensitive microphone. Everyone can hear me well and I don't have to shout during a conversation. They also pick up a lot of outside noise, but no more than your phones with built-in microphones. 10) The case that comes with it is pretty good and can hold an extra pair of IEMs. that can cover my whole ear and support aptX™ HD, they remain my go-to headphones for travel and work. (My serious listening headphone of late is the Sennheiser HD 700) Of course, these headphones aren't for everyone. It doesn't have noise-cancelling, it's not flashy, and no rapper or DJ was involved in its development (although I've heard Sennheiser is trying to do the same). If you're looking for music and are willing to take on the relative part of a Bluetooth-over-the-wire connection, then these headphones are highly recommended for you.
