I bought these specifically for winter golf in the Pacific Northwest. I had the opportunity to go out today and I was very happy with these pants. I wouldn't want to wear them over 50 degrees I guess. At least not in direct sunlight over 50. My jeans and work pants are 36x34. I'm 6ft 2in, 220lbs. Size XL is perfect. I think if you are between 33 and 35 you will be ok in terms of length. At the waist if you are a skinny size 38" it's ok, maybe a bit tight at a full 38". They were a bit loose at the waist, I was able to tuck the zipper in 1/4 which I don't usually do. There might be enough room to wear thin pants underneath for days that start out cold but warm up in the 4 hours you're there. Let's face it, these aren't $200 Gore-Tex pants. I didn't feel uncomfortable when I was there. I think I could easily play with it up to 40*. In PNW, our winter humidity is over 75%, which is 40* with humidity as high as 20* in places where it's dry. Very happy with this purchase, especially considering the price
