Review on Sony ICFC180 AM/FM Clock Radio - Discontinued Model, White Color by Kevin Henry

A rating that gives this watch a star has a big point. On the top, Sony has placed some very important buttons that should actually be on the bottom of the device. I don't know why the hell they made that decision, but they did it. Probably because having one circuit board in the watch was cheaper than having two circuit boards in the device. The time zone/daylight saving time button and the clock setting button are located on top of the watch. The time zone button isn't much of a threat as you have to hold down the time zone button while pressing the other arrow button, which is also on top, to set your time zone. This is unlikely to happen if you reach for a rep. However, the Daylight Saving Time button is dangerous and I have permanently changed my clock to disable this threat. The way I dealt with it was pretty funny. Since the clock sets itself automatically, I've never had to reset the time for any reason, period. I took the clock apart and disabled the time setting button by physically removing (cutting) it from the circuit board inside the clock. THIS SOLVES THE PROBLEM. The only other downside to this watch is that the display is always on. There is a low setting and a high setting, but no off setting. I would have liked a switch-off function. On the plus side, this alarm clock is VERY easy to set up. All you have to do is watch it to see what will happen the next morning. And the playback is great. Each snooze button = 10 minutes. Has 4 alarm clocks (you can use 2 at the same time). The radio seems to work fine. I bought 3 of these units because I have 3 different zones that I sleep in. If you feel comfortable, you can "repair" this watch yourself. Now yes, you will void the warranty, but it's only $25. You might as well buy another instead of making a claim.
