Review on Shure BLX24R/SM58 Wireless Mic System: Industry Standard for Vocal Performances by George Scoles

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The same SM58 receiver or something very similar cost me $1200 7 years ago!

This is a steal for the price. That really made me think it was a typo. I believe the model I had before was the UX series .except there was a small LCD screen on the mic that showed the remaining battery life.Otherwise there isn't much of a difference here.Of course you get the same old reliable SM58 mic that you never have to worry about breaking The only reason I change my UX is when I can't find a replacement mic for it because the buttons on it are broken and I can't change the frequencies anymore.Combo.The only thing missing is the LCD screen on the mic itself. This is a professional model at the price of a basic model. This mic will allow you to travel to a football field or two before you experience isolation issues.Sound quality is all you'll ever get from a m SM 58 microphone. It is used by professional musicians all over the world. It has an XLR connector and a quarter-inch connector on the back, so you can connect in almost any situation. All in all, you won't find a better mic for the price. And the fact that it uses AA batteries is a huge benefit over the 9 VI used with the UX, which lasts for two gigs and needs replacing. While the AA batteries in the new mic last at least four gigs. Which is pretty surprising, and AA batteries are a lot cheaper. Here at Revain you can buy 200 packs for over $20. So stop listening to me and buy yourself right now. I'm buying a second one as a backup and may buy more in the near future.

Pros
  • 1/4" and XLR audio outputs
Cons
  • Crumpled
