So I was looking for a 'new' PC that was modern but old enough to have Windows 7 hardware. I've looked through tons of these slightly older business machines. and decided I needed an HP Elite 8300. It's a model old enough to be compatible with Windows 7 without having problems finding drivers, but modern enough to come with plenty of fast RAM, a fast bus and a fast Intel I5 processor be with decent graphics. These HP Elite devices are well-built, FAST, business-class devices that are ideal for home users who know what to expect from an older device. Much better quality hardware than retail PCs at Walmart, Best Buy, etc. This is not a gaming rig. And not designed for high-performance graphics cards. But with a clean copy of Windows 7 installed, these machines fly and easily handle ANY home/office task you throw at them. And if you like Windows 10, these machines run smoothly too. I just don't agree with how Windows 10 works - I wanted a computer specifically for Windows 7. It had a clean copy of Windows 10 installed along with a certificate of authenticity, but I immediately formatted the hard drive and installed Windows 7. Windows 10 was for me NO selling point. I bought this computer on purpose because it was a high-end business machine from the Windows 7 era. I'm a home user and will stick with Windows 7 until it's practical. I absolutely hate Windows 10 and refuse to ever use it. I almost canceled my order after reading reviews about poor packaging or serious machine damage, but I decided to roll the dice. I'm glad I did. The PC was packaged very well and professionally. The inside is clean, the fans and heatsinks have minimal dust. Nothing bad, just light dust. All USB and DisplayPort connectors are sealed and not worn. The case is in very good condition with only light scuffs and scratches on the top where the monitor should be. The front is clean like new. It came with the usual brand new cheap iMicro branded keyboard and mouse that comes with most refurbished systems and a power cord. These aren't the highest quality keyboards and mice, but they work fine if you're not picky like me. I already have a good keyboard and mouse so it's no big deal. These are used machines so I think it's normal to expect some of them to evade quality control with hardware issues from time to time, but overall this is a very good deal for users who know what they are looking for. What I ended up having turned out to be a gem. I can't say you'll have the same luck, but mine came with 4 matching sticks of 2GB RAM (8GB total as advertised) and a 500GB Western Digital Enterprise-class hard drive, which is surprisingly less powerful . on the clock according to SMART. I'm glad I bought them. I'm excited.
