Review on Black USB Type-C to USB-A Male 3.1 Gen2 Adapter Charger Cable - 3ft (0.9m) - Amazon Basics by Michael Nard

Fast data transfer if your devices support it!

I have 2 USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports on my computer, 1 with native Type-A output and 1 Type-C output. I bought both Revain Basic USB 3.1 Gen 2 cables to use here. For Type-C I bought this one [B07D7NS3DD]. I hate using adapters that I could buy from USB Type A to C and then just bought 2 Type C cables. Adapters tend to add problems and should only be used if you don't have your own cable. Both cables allow me to take advantage of the 10 Gb/s offering of the Gen 2 specification. The Mediasonic HDM-U31C [B074N95HFW] case allows me to compress to get additional performance (read/write) over using my computer's native USB 3.1 Gen1 ports. (briefly explained below) What I really like about these cables is that they are made to safety specs and are under 1 meter long. USB 3.1 Gen2 indicates the 10Gb/s speed slows down when the cable length exceeds 3 feet. I wasn't aware of this when I bought the first Gen2 cable (6ft) and it never gave consistent results, assuming it was a native port issue. Once I figured that out, I was able to reach these high speeds. I would also like to note that due to some reviews (both positive and negative), people are commenting on the ability of these cables to charge a mobile device. While this cable can be charged, it is geared more towards data transfer, which requires a higher quality cable. You can go all out and get a USB-C charging cable ( B085SBKFJR or B088NRLMPV } if charging is your main reason for buying the cable. The last option I've included supports power delivery, which might be a requirement for your Device is. Technology says; In case you don't know, most SSD/HDDs are SATAIII (or Sata 6Gb/s) specification. The theoretical top speed of this connection is 600MB/s. Most people use an enclosure that only USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 supported has a theoretical maximum speed of 500MB/s USB 3.1 Gen2 has a theoretical maximum speed of 1250MB/s Of course, my next step would be to upgrade my case with an NVMe SSD so that I can use the full potential of Gen2 [I'm into photography and really enjoy the speed benefits of transferring my files between devices, including backups. It has uncompressed Vo llimage raw files are 42MP, 84MB file size, and sometimes I have many overlaid or merged photos numbering in the hundreds. MB]
