I wonder if it will charge the new iPad Pro 2018?

This cable is perfect for this niche. Now I can keep the plug and cable that came with my iPad for travel and tuck this cable in my bed for overnight charging. All is well.

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Only available in white

Not recommended for Google Pixel

I ordered two of these cables so I don't have to carry an OEM charger and cable. When connected to my Pixel it charged for a few seconds then stopped and the USBC phone side port got very hot. This is the third (and first basic) USB-C cable I've bought from Amazon. None of these work properly with the Pixel or Note 8. Stick with OEM cables. It's worth paying more for Google/Samsung to avoid frying your phone. .

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Additional cables needed to charge the new iPad Pro 11 inch

Connected to the USB port on my old MacBook Pro, can be used as a charging and data cable. Use them to charge from any standard USB charging cube, and the cable that comes with the new iPad has USB-C on both ends, so it only works with the charging cube that Apple ships with the new iPad. Shop a Whole New Line of USB-C Chargers! This solves this problem! I checked the cable and it works with the iPad.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • No instructions

This cable is dangerous - be careful!

I bought this cable to connect a 2019 iPad Pro to a 2015 Macbook Pro. I replaced a previous cable that no longer worked, so I know it must be the correct cable to connect to. However, every time I plug in the Revain Basics cable everything USB related goes nuts and shuts down! I've tried plugging it directly into my MBP, into all the USB ports on my monitor, and into an external USB hub. the same result for every device. All USB will stop working once this cable is plugged in. It seems very…

Does not work on SSD devices

I have had this item for a little over a year and have used it to connect a Samsung T5 500GB SSD to my Mac. Everything seemed to be working fine, but I kept noticing that Xcode (Apple's IDE) kept freezing. I figured the hands must have something to do with this software, so I spent a lot of time reinstalling the software and even macOS to no avail. Only now did I realize that the freezes were on this cable. If I removed the cable and used a different one, Xcode never crashed again. Too late to…

Great for using target disk mode on a Retina MacBook!

Ideal for Retina MacBook. This cable is what you're looking for to use Target Drive Mode on your new 12" MacBook Retina. Holding down "T" while rebooting will put your MacBook into Target Drive mode and connect to another via USB Mac can be connected and mounted as a drive. On screen. It makes transferring files to/from MacBook very easy. Speeds are excellent, full speed USB-3. I've tried several cables with these connectors and this is ONE, which meets the standards and works great. It also…

Potential fire hazard

I really want to give this product 5 stars but I can't. I have had two of these cables for 2 years now and they have never let me down. until last night. I woke up to the smell of smoke and found my cable like this. Nothing was pinched, the cable was just in the charging connector as it normally sits. I have no idea what could be causing this, but I was afraid it would have done a lot more damage if I hadn't woken up or been home when it happened. I wanted to give it 5 stars. It's been a…

Fast data transfer if your devices support it!

I have 2 USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports on my computer, 1 with native Type-A output and 1 Type-C output. I bought both Revain Basic USB 3.1 Gen 2 cables to use here. For Type-C I bought this one [B07D7NS3DD]. I hate using adapters that I could buy from USB Type A to C and then just bought 2 Type C cables. Adapters tend to add problems and should only be used if you don't have your own cable. Both cables allow me to take advantage of the 10 Gb/s offering of the Gen 2 specification. The Mediasonic HDM-U31C…
