Review on Vantec NexStar Drive Enclosure NST 328S3 BK by Chris Bowden

I've only been using it for a day so can't comment on durability yet but it was easy to put together and the speed is very reasonable. It comes with USB3 and eSATA cables and a power adapter. I'm seeing faster serial read/writes over USB3 than eSATA, but small queued I/Os are faster over eSATA due to how USB works. In general, the speed is as expected. There are no complaints. I was disappointed to see that the inner tray that holds the drive is plastic. Not only can this lead to breakage (don't overtighten screws!), but due to this plastic shell I don't think that the claim in the description 'aluminum housing [. doesn't work all the time. So far it has performed well over the drive's intended temperature range, but simply replacing it with an aluminum mounting plate that contacts the outer aluminum shell would be a simple improvement.
