A little thought before buying

This is my first Wakubot. Here are some thoughts specific to this bot, although most of these thoughts probably apply to any Vacubot: Pros: - It cleans better than expected. Good suction power, good sweeping for cleaning edges/corners. - When it works independently, it requires little effort other than maintenance. - Instead of vacuuming weekly and having dirty floors in between, my floors are now cleaned daily. Cons: - After about 10 runs through my house, only one of them was 100% independent. Then 2 bullets explain: - I think the bot doesn't have a height sensor. Instead of dodging low ground clearances, he flies right in and gets stuck. I've installed wooden blocks and other obstacles to help, but I still haven't perfected this technique. Also, building and dismantling obstacles every day is a lot of hassle. Soon I will be cutting some pieces of wood to raise 2 pieces of furniture - hopefully this will solve the problem. — It is important to protect your home from bots. In young children, this can be a significant pain. Some things that gave me problems: Christmas tree apron, kids toys/games, shoelaces, random cords/laces. It's pretty easy to clog the vacuum cleaner. The brush picks up hair quickly. I feel the need to clean my brush about every 3 days. Granted, my family probably loses more hair than most. Perhaps in a more normal hairy family, this is a weekly chore. - The bot is louder than expected. I can't keep it running at night because it wakes me up. Noise summary: loud horn when turning on or when help is needed, wheels are noisy when going over grooves in tile or wooden partitions, it's a little clumsy and bumps into things that make noise, general suction noise. I'm sleeping upstairs away from the bot, but the first 3 sounds listed above will wake me up - the general sucking sound is probably good for sleep. It's a decent device and if it works well I can certainly see a big benefit. If I had to do it all over again, I probably wouldn't buy a Wakubot. It's just not worth the work I'm putting into this. and unfortunately cannot run it at night.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring packaging
