Review on Downright Thread Count Cascada Pillow by Jen Smith

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Pure disappointment!

Updated review: This pillow didn't last at all. It was a bit flat for a medium sized pillow, more like a super soft pillow, but I didn't - I shouldn't have, especially considering the cost of this pillow. But now, after maybe 6 months of use, it's getting flatter and more shapeless. I have to crumple it up to make it comfy or put another pillow under it - not good! So too bad. Should have sent it back when I received it and saw it was wet. My five stars are reduced to 2. I will leave my original review but this is very disappointing. ------ I gulped when I ordered this pillow, although I've never paid that much for a pillow before (and it wasn't even the most expensive!). However, I have a Downright Cascada 600 fill power, 300 thread count duvet and am very happy with it, so I was confident that this pillow would meet my needs. Experts (there is an expert for everything) the average duvet or pillow has a filling of 450-500, the above average 550-650 and the exceptional 700. This Downright Cascada Luxury pillow has 600. Average (according to experts). Also look for a closer bond. If the weave isn't tight enough, your lint will escape. Look for 250 or more. This Downright pillow has a 300 thread count. Also, there's a difference between down pillows and down and feather pillows or just feather pillows - who would have thought? Not me! These Downright pillows and duvets are made entirely (mostly) of down - there will always be some feathers in there. Down is completely different from feathers. Best quality. They are sewn very well and the cover feels nice and tight. If you're not used to a down pillow, it may seem a little too soft, so be aware that down pillows are softer. I ordered medium but I will tell you that the medium is milder than I thought. However, since I was hesitating between soft and medium, this one is perfect for me. I was a bit disappointed it didn't come with a pillow protector but I have a really nice one that I put on top of that and then on a satin pillowcase (I'm a princess when it comes to my bedding! :D ).He sleeps right right for me. Worth every penny. If you'd seen how many pillows I have or have in my house right now that I've tried and then had to put in the guest room, give away, or put in the linen closet, you'd know I saved the cost of an extra quality pillow, and that's money , space and frustration - I only wish I had done it sooner! I am very happy with it and would recommend it. , count the threads and then decide. Also look at your budget - I'm on a tiny budget but my sleep and head and neck are glad I took the plunge. These downright pads are over $300 so I'm happy with my $131 purchase (and I got a $70 rebate for putting them on my main card - win !). I recommend.
