Nice design except for the buttons. i hate buttons

Bought because I was tired of knocking over the ring light stand on the table. I'm not sure I'll keep it to myself because I HATE the controls. My cheap cable ring has a set of 3 buttons for brightness (up + down) and mode (toggle between sunlight, cold, heat). You can feel them tactically, so it's easy to switch very quickly. I often need to switch color temperature as daylight changes (sunshine during the day, warm at night to match room lighting). This lume has almost invisible knobs on the neck of the lamp that you cannot see when the light is on and facing you. None of the buttons offer tactical feedback, so you won't know if you pressed them. There's a mode button that toggles a tiny, hard-to-see light from blue to green. - Blue mode means you use the plus and minus buttons to adjust the brightness - the lowest setting is still very bright. - Green mode means you use the plus and minus buttons to adjust the light temperature - plus means cool, minus means warm. Trying to land on that nice warm and cool spot to get sunlight means tapping and holding/pressing the plus and minus buttons in frustration and not seeing a color change until it's too warm or too cool becomes. I know it's meant to be very minimalistic and modern, but it's frustrating to use. As a UX professional, this really worries me. I hesitate to recommend this until they fix the controls.

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
