The transparent deck liner screws tightly between the deck and the top frame. Cut it off at the joint or unscrew the top part to release the transparent overlay on the deck [cellophane?]. The screws were drilled at small intervals and/or angles. Before removing the deck to reproduce the orientation, mark the inside of the top frame so the top lines up with the top of the print on the bottom of the deck. This way the screw holes will line up when you change decks on the frame. Or simply drag a marker from any inside surface onto the underside of the deck. If the screws are then adjusted so that their tips protrude slightly from the top of the frame and you turn each a little, moving from opposite sides, they will align properly when tightened to the underside of the deck. Sort of like tightening the nuts. One of the stools was chipped and when I ran my finger over it I got an easy to remove splinter. I sanded problem areas. Scratches on the paintwork are hardly visible on the floor-level stool. Despite these flaws, I'm glad I bought them. Useful for sitting at floor level. The cat uses it to get to the sink.
