So far so good. What to look out for: Be careful when lifting the protective plastic cover. In my device most of the pins were down and I used a small screwdriver to pry them up one at a time. Then set the time and press the two pins required to turn on/off. I agree manual controls would be nice; however, this is not that big of a problem for me. Addendum to the above review. The instructions are terrible. Figured out through trial and error how to set the timer and turn it on for the FULL programmed length. Set the current time. Make sure ALL the pins are up, then set them to toggle on/off by pressing those pins. Now here's the "trick": After determining the on/off time, press ALL the pins between the on/off selections. , the timer will remain on for this entire period, otherwise it will turn off too early.
