I bought this expecting it would be a good upgrade for my XB950N1. It's more comfortable, so a nice plus, but after listening to a few songs and feeling like something was wrong, I ran a sine wave frequency test and found that the frequency response is much weaker and harsher below 40Hz than the old XB950N1. To make matters worse, the physical buttons on the right earcup have been replaced with a really stupid invisible touch system that's very easy to accidentally activate when you pick up or put the headset on during a call, or fall asleep while you're on a seated train. etc. The final blow to this is that every time you plug in a headset using the 3.5mm cable, it disables all EQ settings and defaults back to a muffled, plain sound with no bass boost and no option to toggle back. The old XB950N1 stores the bass boost settings in the headset and saves them when you plug in the cable, making it easy to use on a PC. I can't understand why they have REMOVED a good software feature or why they think swipe gestures are easier than a physical pause button. The biggest minus point is the reduced bass reproduction and so the only salvation is the more comfortable fit with better padding (especially overhead), which is why I give it two stars instead of one. It's a shame because I was really looking forward to this purchase.
